KODY JAMES TOBLER IS TURNING A BIG 3 YEARS OLD

Kody James Tobler is going to turn three years old.  We are going to have an open birthday party for all Kody’s freinds and family to celabrate such a great milestone in his life.  Kody James Tobler is now the longest living child with the shortest gut and no ileo cecil valve in Australia, if not the world.

kody is ok but we had some problems the new central line has now moved we have a bug in the line we got temps up to 40 degrees and his face has blow up a bit but today is day 3 and he still has a blow up face we are running the best antibiotics that they have and he seems a lot better then what he was he is now playing… with his sister destiny we now have to go for more test to see if we can put his central line down in his groin shit shit shit but better then not having 1 at all so looks like were got to go for another op great see how he comes out this time ???? so i will talk and look at all resolts off the last op and see if we can wait a month or 2 if not we go in tomorrow or monday but at the moment he is getting better for he is a tough tobler he says kody sick go away kody come home no dad kody go home he tell me what to do all the time
but i love it ,it means he s getting better and he knows i’ll do anything for him so will mum and kyla but dessie not we love you son get better so we can go home love ya’s all and hope you all have a great new year love the tobler’s

KODY’S HOME

Kody Tobler come home yesterday for the first time to stay and sleep and be a family. We had our ups and downs though. It was sad to the hospital staff that love Kody so much to say goodbye and he loves them so we left a open invitation to all the hospital staff to come visit any time they like ring him talk to him on facebook so that he can talk back to you all. Kody was also in the MURCURY today 23/12/10 is a mad little add on page 6. Kody loved being home he hasn’t stoped all morning just being home with mum and dad and sisters, Nanma just come over and said hi my little man did you have a good night. Kody says yeeh i sleep at mum and daddy house and no go back to hospital. He loves it at home we love it to. Nan and Pop come over as well and he loves it i think he having the time off his life and so are the rest off his family. We had a scary time doing his tpn for his dad got everything ready and was just about to connect kody up to his tpn.When he had to drawback Kody’s blood out off his central line but the blood wouldn’t come out i also tried sitting Kody up and getting him to move his arms but it still didn’t work so i rang the hospital to find out what to do they said to try again. So i did and still no blood so i got kristy to drive him upto the hospital because i don’t know how to do anymore race him up there baby. When she got there they said that it happens some times and we have to get him to jump around move his arms up and down to get the blood running though him so that we could get some blood out of his central and we did finaly so they hooked him up and kristy brought him home to sleep it ewas so scary but he’s back home and loving it well got to go for now and we’ll update again later on thankyou to all the support we ve gotton and we love you all .

kody coming home

kody is coming home in two sleeps and he can’t wait nether can his family. Kody is going to be on win news tonight at 6 or 6.30 pm he is so full off life and since we told him he can come home he now don’t want to go back to the hospital.We also had the house and yard cleaned up and we are now ready for kody to come home and be with his family.We are so excited that words do not say enough this is a dream come true for kristy and i and are well prepaired in all the cares for kody and are comfordent in anything we have to do for kody.We also don’t have to go back to the hospital in sydney till the 4 janury for a central line change but we will have cheak ups at wollongong thankyou for all your support and hope you all have a great xmas and we look forward to seeing you all next year. kody’s coming home

kody james tobler for the first time in his life gets to go home and stay, live like a family. We are on top of the world and he gets to come home wednsday the 22nd we are doing media papers tv news doco we are busy getting things ready for when he comes home we only got to stay in hospital monday and tuesday night then we come home wednsday no more hospital for us unless kody gets sick touch wood.We are going to have the best chrissy ever all off us together like it should be. Santa’s going to love kody because he’s going to give santa milk for the raindeers and cookies and a bourban for santa so when he’s finished he can have a drink kody says. We can now put all the chrismas lights up for we were upset kody wasn’t coming home but now were putting them up together tomorrow as well as a new tree that we are going to get sunday.we like to thank all kodys supporters and hope you all have a great chrismas and new year and we hope to see you all next year at one of kody’s bbq’s thankyou the toblers

Daddy’s first hep-lock

Kody’s dad Jay here.  Today I  hep-locked Kody for the first time.   It was great but it was also scary as Kody is not like a practice dummy but is the real thing.  I was able to do it and they say the first time is always the hardest but after that it becomes natural.

Then, when we had done it successfully, we  took Kody home!

All he wanted to do was watch a movie called ‘Bolt‘.   He loves it.   So does mummy and daddy; but there was a catch –  he only wanted to watch it in the bedroom on mummy and daddy’s bed and laying down.   I thought he would only stay there 5 to 10 minutes max but he stayed there for the whole movie.  Just before it finished he fell asleep next to mum.  She was already asleep.   I lay there and just watched them for about 20 mintutes then curled up next to Kody and feel asleep myself.

We all sleept for 1 and a half hours then Kody and I woke up at the same time.  It was the best felling ever and we loved every mintue of it.  We now know that it will be soon taht we won’t have to take him back to the hospital.

He had so much fun with his sisters and he shows them so much love; he can’t stop hugging and kissing them.  It is so sweet.  He shows Destiny how to play with the toys like a great big brother should.   He dances around with Kyla.  We really had a great day today and for him to sleep at home was breath taking.

He didn’t want to go back to the hospital but once we got there he was fine and he just went off and played with the nurses.   When I told him that daddy was going he said ‘Kody walk daddy to the door,  come on daddy’.  It was so cute but was so upsetting.   ‘We love you Kody; goodnight son’.

We also had Kody write on his facebook page today.  It’s called the Kody Tobler Support Page.   He also has articiles on Google,  you just have to type in his name – “Kody Tobler”  – and there they are!

Kody Tobler, longest living child with his condition

Kody Tobler has a condition called “short gut”; he has only 27cm of small intestine, no ileocecal valve, inlarged bowels and no movement inside his intestines.  He also has a large spleen, a very scared liver and is now in need of a bowel and liver transplant.

Of those with this condition, Kody is now the longest surviving child in Australia and, our doctors tell us,  the world.
